Lotta stops downloading

it's a little bit mysterious!

on no special time lotta / hella will stop downloading. all i then can do is quit lotta or kill hella. then some minutes later - the same problem.

i installed the newest version of lotta - no change.

but it worked months well - no change on the serversystem (where there are installed). the system now: ubuntu 9.10 (before 9.04)

also i cleared all the folders and reinstalled hella and lotta - so i dont know how to get the problem solved - its sucks :(

Hi spacemutron,

I'm really sorry that it took such a long time for me to answer this question. Unfortunately, I don't have a clue what the problem could be and as you've already cleared all directory and reinstalled the applications in questions, you already seem to have tried quite hard to find a solution.

However, what I recommend you is to take a look at SABnzbd. In contrast to HellaNZB, it's actively being developed, it's much more stable and has more features. We're currently in the process of porting LottaNZB to SABnzbd [1]. The package is called 'sabnzbdplus' on Ubuntu. However, I recommend you to use the PPA mentioned in the blog post, as the version shipped with Ubuntu is notoriously out-of-date.

It would be great to hear from you whether you also experience the problem using SABnzbd.
