Outline of what's being selected

Asked by psych1610

I love this program, it's pretty much exactly what I've been looking for here. I used to (and still do) have a script that does something like this, but a GUI is just cool.

Two questions, is it possible to assign a keyboard shortcut to take screenshots? For example, map ctrl + print to it. gconf-editor would handle this I think, but I'm not sure what the shortcut to tell the program to take a picture would be (if there's one available).

My second question would be, is it possible to add a visual outline of what area is selected. Even with the cursor there it's difficult to see what is being selected. I believe on your blog I read you were using scrot, if so, I know scrot has this functionality (or used to, with scrot -s). I'm not sure how it would translate to a gui though.

Both of these are planned. No, Lookit doesn't use scrot in any way, it's all implemented in python

Thanks, I thought I read it on your blog somewhere but maybe that was before all this.
