~ubuntu-ae group and owner inactive

Asked by Oxwivi

We, the residents and users of Ubuntu in the United Arab Emirates, are trying to become an officially recognised LoCo. Started with a Meetup group (http://www.meetup.com/EmiratesLoCo/), we've conducted 8 meetups (the latest was last thursday), including an installfest at American University of Sharjah, one of the most recognised higher-education university in the UAE.

This group was established last year, and separate and without knowledge of the group of ~ubuntu-ae page on Launchpad. We do not how they've fared, but it is very apparent that the group is completely inactive. In our interest of becoming a recognised LoCo,, I would like to ask as a representative of our group, that the page be freed up so we can take over.

You will need to discuss this with the LoCo Council. You can reach them at <email address hidden>

@Chris, wouldn't that require me to subscribe to their mailing list? Where can I do that?

Can you help with this problem?
