Using liveUSB

Asked by Shador

When I started reading about liveUSB it seemed like exactly what I have been looking for. But I don't quite understand how it will work.

Right now it can only be sownloaded as a beta for intrepid systems right? What if I want to use it on my Heron system to create an Intrepid USB disk?

Another thing i don't understand is if you need to actually run from a live CD for this to work. If that is the case then what is the point if this application? Appearently the it is possible to mount the iso and then install the OS image on the USB drive from there.

But this application will be available for distributions below Intrepid?

It works like this:
Order a free Ubuntu 8.04 CD from ShipIt.
Boot from this CD.
Install the livecd tool from the deb.
Lauch liveusb and convert the running Live CD into a Live USB system.

Can you help with this problem?
