liveusb load

hi looking for help have downloaded Ubuntu 8.04 LTS Desktop Edition burned the image to dvd then booted my laptop and installed the usb drive downloaded the liveusb file.after that run the program but error messege say's ( could not determine size of /cdrom/casper please run this application on a ubuntu live system or mount a ubuntu live iso to /cdrom ) as i am using a live ubuntu dvd could some one help
