Problem with intrepid and casper

Asked by Marstein

It seems that there is no casper-folder in the intrepid-alpha-iso and it seems like this makes it hard for liveusb to create a LiveUSB.
It just keeps spinning with the message "copying /cdrom/casper"

Are you really running this from the Live CD? The Alternate Install CD won't work!

Running it from 8.04, using the alpha1-iso to make liveusb

According to
http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/current/intrepid-desktop-i386.list

there are the following files and directories on the Intrepid Live CD:
/casper/filesystem.manifest
/casper/filesystem.manifest-desktop
/casper/filesystem.squashfs
/casper/initrd.gz
/casper/vmlinuz

Your source Live CD needs to be mounted at /cdrom, then it should see /cdrom/casper

Please let me know if the casper directory is really missing on your CD. In that case, please post the result of "ls -lh /cdrom"

The problem was that since alpha1 was an alternate release, the liveusb wasnt able to make the usb-pen work as the cd.
