Currently, Listaller is undergoing a lot of changes. We're working on a PackageKit inclusion, which would make the additional Listaller Daemon obsolete (Listaller will then use PK instead), also PackageKit will soon be able to use Listaller for to manage software which was not installed by the distribution's package management.
So, the current Listaller sources aren't really stable at time. (For Listaller 0.4 you can use the Lucid package sources) But I'm planning to start the daily builder for Maverick packages from Listaller 0.5 sources later, so you will get precompiled Listaller packages from the current master development branch, as soon as all major work regarding PackageKit has been completed.
Hope that helps :)

P.S: You can compile Listaller from source, if you want. Just clone our Git branch: git clone git://gitorious.org/listaller/listaller.git
Then you can build Listaller using CMake.

Wow that sounds awesome! So basically Listaller will become an alternative to gnome-packagekit with added function?

Will i still be able to go into etc/PackageKit and edit the PackageKit.conf file or will there be another method to do this?

No, GNOME-PackageKit will have all functionality ListallMgr-GTK has. GNOME-PackageKit will then be able to manage all Software ListallMgr-GTK displays at time. PackageKit will work as usual, so everything PK-related will stay. Listaller will become some kind of PK addon.

I'm very interested to test Listaller on Maverick. Is there a way to be automatically notified when a PPA for Maverick will be available?

By the way, will Listaller packages be added in the Ubuntu universe repository?

Regards.

Hi!
I just want to inform you that Listaller is now available in Ubuntu Quantal. You can also use the PPAs for PackageKit to install it, if you want.
Cheers,
    Matthias
