I think I found out your problem.
1. Go to the 'Start' Menu of Linux Mint.
2. Go to Preferences.
3. Go to Network Connections.
4. Select your network connection and click edit.
5. Go to the tab ' IPv4 Settings'.
6. Where there is Method: Automatic (DHCP), click and choose Manual.
7. Then click Add and put in your IP Address and the rest of the information.
