can't download anything on a wired connection

I can not download anything when I am on a wired connection, from any hub, however, when I go wireless, it works.

Well, as you made clear yourself, LinuxDC++ itself works just fine when it goes through wireless. Thus that already rules LinuxDC++ out as a possible root cause since it does not distinguish between what type of connection it is using. It has to be some sort of operating system or network configuration issue. Make sure your LAN port has the same type of firewall/router configuration as the wireless does.
