"LinuxDC++ Waiting for slot"

Asked by Perumbure Suresh

I am able to search for files and the file list is displayed but when I try to download a files it says "waiting for slot". This is happening for all types of files and for all sizes of files. Except the file lists nothing is getting downloaded. Please tell me how to solve this issue.

My laptop needs to go though a proxy server to connect to the internet.

The number of slots you set is how many people can download from you at the same time.

So if that user has 2 slots, and 2 people are already downloading from them, you will have to wait until someone finishes their file before it will let you start.

Thank you for the reply.

I have checked and found that the slots available vis-a-vis the slots being used are shown in LinuxDc++ against each file. This problem (waiting for slot) is being reported for all files irrespective of whether the slots are available or not.

I have also increased the number of upload slots in my configuration to 11 (it was earlier set at 3) and still the same problem occurs.
