The right format is:

https://YOUROWALOGIN@auto

YOUROWALOGIN is exactly what you enter to log in to OWA, e.g. "CORP\jdoe" or maybe just "johnd".

Make sure that you configure the right email address for the calendar, or @auto will not work.

Well, what I want to know is whether to use the OWA-URL or the EWS-URL.

You should use the @auto URL if possible. Doesn't that work?

https://AD\<useraccount>@auto
http://<useraccount>@auto

... does not work

I'm using Ubuntu 11.04.

Is "@auto" a feature of this addon or is that some microsoft-related stuff from Exchange-Autodiscover or anything like that?

yes, @auto will use the exchange autodiscovery. If autodiscovery is not available for you, try using the EWS url as described in the wiki.
