LightDM - invisible password

Asked by Marko Hensel on 2013-05-29

Hello all together,

could anybody tell me, how can I make the Point of the Password invisible? With the KDM it was possible in the Config-File with the "EchoPasswd=false". I tried this in the Config-File of LightDM but successless.

I hope, you understand my Question.

yours sincerely

Marko

This is controlled in the greeter. PAM requests a password to be entered, and this is passed by LightDM to the greeter. It is up to the greeter to decide how to display this.

OK.

You mean, I can't make the Password invisible, so that nobody can see, how long is my password?

Or how can I do this?

"EchoPassword" is not the true command...

I mean you can't do this in LightDM, but it could be implemented in a greeter. You need to contact the authors of the greeter you are using (e.g. Unity Greeter, LightDM KDE etc).

Can you help with this problem?
