Headless Ubuntu 11.10 freezes before the lightdm-gtk-greeter shows up

Lightdm v1.0.6 , lightdm-gtk-greeter v1.0.6 on Ubunutu 11.10 when booted with no monitors connected , freezes just before the lightdm-gtk-greeter comes up with the login screen.

Is this known issue or some configuration problem in Ubuntu 11.10?

Any pointers to this is helpful.

Gerry,

No the link/answer you have posted is related to "Linux system where there is Video card in it".

But the system I have had video card , but the lightdm is freezes just before showing the login screen if the monitor is connected to the system.
 I should be able to login to the system at a later point of time, when the monitor is connected to system .
