How can I enable XDMCP

Asked by MNLipp

It's not perfectly clear to me from what I found on the net, if LightDM supports XDMCP at all. But I found a commented configuration file that suggests adding to lightdm.conf a section

[xdmcp]
enabled=true
port=177
key=someKey

However, this has no effect on out-of-the-box 11.10 (nothing listening on port 177, checked with netstat). Neither debug mode nor log file gives a hint.

Did I miss something or is it simply not supported?
