Unable to 'make' - All dependencies installed?

Asked by christylea

I've installed the dependencies listed in the README file (plus a few devel packages), but when I execute 'make' I get several different files complaining that

‘Glib’ has not been declared
ISO C++ forbids declaration of ‘Button’ with no type
expected `{' before ‘ColumnRecord’

I'm obviously missing something, but I have no idea what.

I'm running RedHat Enterprise Linux, updating/installing via yum.

I do not have any experience with Red Hat but it seems like your system lacks something very essential.
Make sure that you have *development* packages of all of the dependencies (gtkmm, gconfmm, gtkspell, and gcrypt).
Also make sure that your packages are current enough. Especially, gtkmm has to be of version 2.16 or above.

Yah...the gtkmm from our repository is gtkmm24-2.10. I can't seem to find (easily) a 2.16. Any suggestions?

Did you say 2.10? That is rather old :(

You can try 0.4.1 version of Lifeograph which can be downloaded from here: https://launchpad.net/lifeograph/0.4/0.4.1
It compiles with gtkmm 2.12, but I am not sure of 2.10.

Can you help with this problem?
