access backup diaries on Android

Asked by Metcomm

My very important diary file seems to be corrupted (no access) on my Smartphone probably due to a low battery issue. I don't see a way to access the location of the backup archive, if it exists. Any orientation appreciated.

Backups are saved into "backups" folder which is created in the same directory as the diary file.

Thank you for the answer but my problem is , on the android , i cannot find where the Diary directories are located. They do not seem to be on the Main Storage tree.

In settings there is an option for the storage of the diary files. What is selected there?

Thanks for the reply. The default "Internal Storage" was originally
selected (I've changed that now to "External Storage/SDCard" where I
have created a new working diary). The othe diaries on the original
setting are still accessable but not my main working diary (which also
encrypted) - when I click on it, nothing happens.  That's why I need
access to the backup so I can transfer the data to an extenal medium.
This is really important to me because all of my notes of a recent
business trip are not available! Is there a way to access the backups -
they seem to be embedded on the root system, somewhere.
Note : I have not touched the application since the crash ---
(reinstalled, updated, etc)
In recap :

* My original working Diary was encrypted and was located
    on "Internal Storage"  (via settings)
* After a battery crash, this diary was no longer accessible (I was
    using it at the time)
* I cannot locate the backup files for my original working Diary
* I can located the new Diary files (and backups) on the External
    Storage
* I am now using "External Storage/SDCard" for my new "working diary"
* This is the Android version 0.7.1

Issue is to retreive the backup (if exists) of my "original working
Diary" and transfer it to External Storage for safe keeping.
Your assistance is appreciated.
