Version 1.4 in stable ppa for Ubuntu 16.04 LTS

Asked by icicle

It would be great to get the latest stable version 1.4 as a package in the "PPA for dmXE" for the current Ubuntu 16.04 LTS. Is this possible?

Thanks, a lot!

The PPA is discontinued. However, it is really easy to build Lifeograph.

P.S: v1.4.0 cannot be built on Ubuntu 16.04. Please use v1.4.1.

I dis-agree. All I get is a bunch of error messages and that caused by the fact I haven't a clue what the heck I'm doing, and YES I have even tried to follow your instructions.

PLEASE. Create a dummies / newbies guide to this "build" or provide Lifeograph as PPA or Installable Binary or something that people like me can understand without wasting 3 or 4 days search the Internet for explanations of stuff we have never heard of before trying to upgrade from v1.0.1 that is available in the software manager. - PLEASE !!!!

Thanks

Hi Fred,
Unfortunately I no longer use Ubuntu and it is very hard for me to maintain that PPA. Building Lifeograph is really easy, if you know a few things. If it is the first time ever you compile a program, chances are things may go amiss. Key point here is having every dependency installed before venturing into building. For more info, please see my response on the other thread. However, if your software manager offers v1.0.1, you are probably on a very old version of Ubuntu. If that is the case, you may not be able to build recent versions of Lifeograph easily, if at all.
