Way to save without closing?

I'll be working and when the computer unexpectedly freezes or shuts down or something else happens, I lose a lot of work because there doesn't seem a way to save periodically while working.

Lifeograph periodically saves the file for you while you are working every 30 secs. The backup file is also the lock file. When you try to open a diary file after a crash, Lifeograph will warn you that the file is locked. Just locate the lock file, rename it and open it in Lifeograph.

This is explained in more detail in the manual that comes with the program.
