Tags in v. 0.8.1 (sorting, appearance)

Asked by SciYY

First of all, thank you very much for your program. I have used it about a year already as my diary and work notes holder.

Recently I upgraded from v. 0.6.X to 0.8.1. The new interface and possibilities are nice, but I can't find how to view all entries marked with a certain tag. When I click on a tag, the program displays a nice graph, but the list of records stays unchanged. So I can't quickly reach all records concerning this tag. This possibility is very important for me. In v. 0.6.X it was called something like "Sort by tag", but I can't find such sorting in the present version.

And one more thing about appearance. In the new version I always have tag list at the left of the editor window. Just for me it consumes the valuable space since I don't need it most of the time. I can shrink it to zero width but only for current session. When I open program next time I always have in its place.

Thank you in advance.

In the new version, entries associated with a certain tag can be *filtered*. This is done using the filter icon (symbolized with a funnel) in the toolbar of tag view (the display with graph) or by double clicking a tag. This new approach makes it possible to keep entries always grouped by tag and, more improtantly, prevents a single entry from appearing in the list more than once, as was the case in 0.6 series.

As to the ever present tag list, actually, Lifeograph saves tag panel width and preserves it across sessions as long as it is not zero. If you do not use the tag panel, you can shrink it to be just a few pixels wide. However, unless you have insufficient horizontal resolution, it is recommended to keep it around.
