libertine will support OpenGL?

Asked by Emanuele Sorce

I have a phone whit ubuntu touch and libertine. The X apps that requires hardware acceleration via OpenGL works whitout it, but using software renderization (very very slow). This because my phone only support OpenGL ES. But in the libertine container, can I enable OpenGL renderization? Maybe installing in the container mesa?

Thanks for your question.

Unfortunately there is currently no hardware acceleration support in XMir for arm devices, and it would be a large effort on our end to implement something for containers to be able to take advantage of any future support.

In short, we know this is an issue and there is nothing planned to address it. Hopefully incremental performance improvements will start to address any of these pains.
