Previously working installation now fails

Asked by Dave Kennel

I had ldapdiff working reliably against openldap on RHEL 5. I recently configured the server for SASL/GSSAPI/Kerberos and rebuilt from a slapcat backup and added an ou and now when I try to use ldapdiff I'm getting the following error:

ldap_first_entry() failed: file: ldapschema.c, line: 98
ldap_err2string(): Success

Any idea on what that means?

Thanks,

Dave

Hi Dave,

I'm a little bit confused, about this error. First, I thougt the problem depends on your
new authentication methods. ldapdiff supports "LDAP AUTH SIMPLE" with Login and
Password, only. But in this case, the error message should be different...

Please try:
- enable "LDAP_AUTH_SIMPLE" auth mech in slapd.conf
- check, if the bind user has access rights for the schema

regards

Thomas
