Passing images to lava-dispatcher.

Asked by Prakash Ranjan on 2012-09-22

Hi all,
I want to pass three images , uboot, uImage and rootfs to lava-dispatcher. Can I use Image argument of lava-dispatcher. Is it possible to make a zip or tar file of these three images and pass it to lava-dispatcher and when I pass , it internally extract the images and and place it into /testuboot and /testrootfs of the sd card. It would be grateful if you tell me is the support is available or not?
Also, these images are not made by using linaro-media-create. I am using some 10 to 12 different steps to make thses images.

The other approach i can use is to pass a python or bash script file into the lava dispatcher so that it will run this script which will download the packages, build it and place it into the corrosponding position of the sd card as we are doing it for test images.

The dispatcher has no support for any of the options you are proposing. You have a few options:

1) produce a pre-built image that we could put directly on the sd card for you (ie -what the "image" field is for now)

2) package your uboot/uimage into a proper hwpack, and then use the deploy action that takes a hwpack + rfs

3) patch the dispatcher to do something that fits more into your workflow

Can you help with this problem?
