change my nick to another one (used)

Asked by Natacha Menjibar

I have a little problem with my Launchpad account, and I hope you can help me with it

I would like to have my nick (kelp) in my Launchpad account (https://launchpad.net/~natachamenjibar). In the meantime, I have set up my full name as my nick, but I would love to change it to my nick. However, it's used by another user (https://launchpad.net/~kelp). But, as that user has _never_ used Launchpad, I was wondering if you could give me that nick.

Thank you very much.
kelp

You could ask in #launchpad on irc.freenode.net
I am not sure if this is allowed but worth a try!

Hi, the user you refer to is using the launchpad account for ubuntu wiki editing as far as I can tell. They have person details suggesting that they also use kelp as a nickname or handle, so I think it would be unreasonable to change this on them without discussion : name collisions do occur.

Your best bet is to try contacting them, perhaps via the wiki.

Rob, can you provide some URLs with evidence of this? The Mickey25 page on the wiki seems to be unused at least..

yes, the wiki page doesn't exist and I can't contact with him (google can't help me :( )

I have changed my launchpad acount to https://launchpad.net/~natacha , but I still would like to change it to https://launchpad.net/~kelp because this is the nickname I use in every places.

Thanks for all
