My past questions have just vanished while viewing them why ?

Likely they "disappeared" because they were originally filed against the wrong project and were re-assigned to the correct project.

Follow what Brad said, all the stuff you do in launchpad stays related
to your profile, just move to the answers tab and you will find it :)
