If you're getting mail about bugs in Ubuntu in some project you've probably subscribed to all Ubuntu bugs. You can turn that off here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+subscribe

If that doesn't solve it, please post a copy of one of the problem messages into this question, including the full headers.

I have attached a copy of an email just rx'd.

although This came from ...@canonical.com it says "on behalf of..."
I have been on/to canonical.com I guess there related

It seems I have unsubscribed from the majority of them, there's a few stragglers & this is one of them

PS. thanks for your help, I was a bit panicked when I found over 2100 emails !! , I know there was a warning about that, But I did want to get feedback about my bug & bugs in general - just not THAT much feedback.
I WILL be more careful with subscriptions ... thanks, glen

gnome-screensaver-command -p triggers keyboard event
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/505789
You received this bug notification because you are subscribed to gnome-
screensaver in ubuntu.

Status in “gnome-screensaver” package in Ubuntu: In Progress
Status in “gnome-screensaver” source package in Karmic: Fix Released

Bug description:
Binary package hint: gnome-screensaver

When "gnome-screensaver-command -p" is called, it triggers a keyboard-event (something with Alt+...).

This is a problem when called from for example blueproximity where the command is called in the background and the user has an application like oowriter (or some other app with a trigger for the particular keyboard event) focused. In that case it opens the File-menu every 10 seconds, which is, needless to say, annoying.

Way to replicate:

sleep 5 && gnome-screensaver-command -p

Now focus oowriter and 5 seconds later, the File-menu will open.

BTW, this bug is new since I've used this command for at least a year and the problem surfaced after an update on December 29th 2009;

Upgraded the following packages:
gnome-screensaver (2.28.0-0ubuntu3.1) to 2.28.0-0ubuntu3.2
