How to set Jabber ID

I'd like to set my jabber id <email address hidden>, but this jabber id is registered within my old account ~tomson. I got this error message: The Jabber ID <email address hidden> is already registered by tomson.

How this problem can be solved? Thanks.

Do you actually want two accounts? If not, you can merge them: see https://help.launchpad.net/YourAccount/Merging
