Please delete the 'ubuntu-l10n-te' mailing list

Asked by David Planella

The request for a ubuntu-l10n-te mailing list in Launchpad was approved for the Ubuntu Telugu Translation team at https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-l10n-te, despite the policy of not approving mailing lists for Ubuntu projects, which should be handled by requests to rt.ubuntu.com.

Could someone please delete it? Thanks!

The most important reason for Ubuntu translation teams not using Launchpad mailing lists, is that we encourage a model with a few translation reviewers (i.e. the members of the moderated or restricted team) and many translators (i.e. those who can only submit suggestions). Launchpad mailing lists only allow members of the team as subscribers, which would leave all non-member translators out of the mailing list.

Has anyone contacted the team in question yet to explain that their team is about to be removed?

I'm loathe to simply pull the rug out from underneath them, without prior warning.

We have been in touch with the new team, and we've thoroughly explained why the list should be removed and not have been approved in the first place:

Thanks for looking into this.
