Please change my ID from ~evand to ~ev

Asked by Evan

I have a PPA, which blocks me from changing my own launchpad ID. Could someone please change my ID from http://launchpad.net/~evand to ~ev?

Thanks!

Curtis, do you know if this is an absolute limitation - no user ID change if PPA has been published to - and if there are intentions to fix it? -- allenap, 2009-11-17 A LOSA can fix change the name, It will break the PPA. The user has to accept and the subscribers will be confused.

Have you tried removing the packages and then changing or deactivating your ppas' ?

It's not possible to delete/disable your own PPAs:

Hi Evan,

I think that we can't change your user ID if you've ever published
something to a PPA, . I don't know why, so I'll ask someone in
Registry and/or Soyuz to comment further.

FAQ #569 <https://answers.launchpad.net/soyuz/+faq/569> has this to
say:

"... users with a PPA are not allowed to change their user name
   nowadays."

Gavin.

A LOSA can force the launchpad-id change to change your URL. It will break the PPA.

That's fine by me. There's nothing of importance in my PPA.

I've linked this question to the bug about this because making changes like this is currently cumbersome and error prone, but in any case, I've made the change.

Thanks, Tom
