orig.tar.gz not found but this one is in karmic-proposed

Asked by Didier Roche-Tolomelli

Hey Soyuz guys,

I've just uploaded in karmic-proposed simplecommeubuntu 9.04

Then, I wanted to do the same for lucid, just changing the changelog entry.
Thinking that the .orig.tar.gz was already in the soyuz repository as pool/, I built it with -sd (without orig.tar.gz), my .changes file is so:

But I got a rejection about not founding orig.tar.gz file:
"Unable to find simplecommeubuntu_9.10.orig.tar.gz in upload or distribution.
Files specified in DSC are broken or missing, skipping package unpack verification."

So, how can I deal with it now? reuploading the orig.tar.gz as well?

Thanks a lot for your answer :)

The one you already uploaded has a different name:

simplecommeubuntu_9.04.orig.tar.gz

This is generally not how to use .orig files, they should be versioned according to the upstream, not what you're releasing into.

I'm upstream :)

simplecommeubuntu is a free book on ubuntu, so version numbering contains ubuntu version.

Have previously said, I've uploaded in karmic-proposed simplecommeubuntu_9.10.orig.tar.gz and it's waiting SRU approval.
But lucid don't seem to find it, how to deal with that?

Ah! I see.

Ok so if you go here:
https://edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/simplecommeubuntu
and open up the expandable lines you'll see that you previously uploaded both karmic and lucid sources with no .orig

Also if you go here:
https://edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu/karmic/+queue?queue_state=1&queue_text=

Your most recent upload of the package with the .orig file you need has not been accepted yet, so you can't refer to its files as they're not published yet.

Sorry for the confusion, hope that helps!

Perfectly :)

So, I just have to wait for 9.10 be accepted in karmic-proposed (the sru is in progress) and then, I'll be able to update lucid without any .orig.tar.gz if I understood correctly. Thanks!
