When trying to do updates, I get this message:
E: dpkg was interrupted, you must manually run 'dpkg --configure -a' to correct the problem. E: _cache->open() failed, please report.
How do I fix this? Do I just open the terminal and run this command above? Tried typing in the command but it said I had to be logged in as superuser. What's the easiest way to do that? Thanks, Gary

Yes, you should follow the directions of the command and run
"dpkg --configure -a"
It should fix your problems.
