Is there a way to add a post-commit hook for repository statistics reporting?

Google Code, for example, provides a facility for project commit notifications in JSON (http://code.google.com/p/support/wiki/PostCommitWebHooks). I'm looking into this because I'd like statistics about commits to a branch of my project's code to be available to http://cia.vc , which normally collects information via XML in an email.

The only commit notifications that Launchpad currently supports is through email subscription. I think it would a cool idea to support XMPP type notifications, but that's not in any development plans currently.

If you're interested in automated bzr landings on approved merge proposals, Tarmac has support for notifying CIA.vc after it automatically merges a branch.
