Translation Copyright - Authors

Assuming that translations for a project are done solely in launchpad...

Debian copyright policy asks that you list the copyright holders of all the content listed, however, as this may be multiple people, then this 1) can make the file large and 2) make it a bit confusing when writing this.

How would this best be handled?

As far as I know ALL contributors are listed as the translation of "translators-credits" string for each PO file.

If the POT file does not contains the translators-credits msgstr, translators will only be listed in the webinterface.

Here is an example:

This doesn't solve my problem.

The Debian copyright file asks that authors be listed alongside the file(s)... I'll assume that I'd have to extract these authors from the translation?

At this time, you can see this information on "Translation details" page of any particular translation. As Adi mentions, you can add "translator-credits" message to the file for a full list of translators to be included there, but perhaps what you want is an external API to get a list of contributors?

If so, it shouldn't be hard to add and I'd be happy to point anyone in the right direction (for general guidelines on how to hack on Launchpad, start at https://dev.launchpad.net), but we lack the time to implement that ourselves.
