releases out of order

Asked by Joel Fenwick

See https://launchpad.net/escript-finley

We have made three releases on launchpad:
mpi series -> 2.0.0beta [released 2008-11-28]
                 -> release2.0 [released 2009-04-20]

series3 -> 3.0 [released 2009-08-10]

I assume the following are related.
i) The Downloads pane on the summary page gives latest release as release2.0 [Which is wrong].

ii) On https://launchpad.net/escript-finley/+download - the releases are not ordered by date (the most recent release appears last in the list).

---------
I note there was a similar sounding issue in:
https://bugs.edge.launchpad.net/launchpad-registry/+bug/405086

Most important from our point of view is getting the most recent release on the main page.
Apart from that, is there a way to reorder releases/series?

Maybe some text could be added to the doco about the ordering between series and releases?

Thanks
Joel

The release that is shown on the front page is there because 'mpi' sorts before 'series3' roughly speaking. Launchpad expects the series to be named somewhat like software versions -- it would present releases from the mpi-3.0 series over releases from the mpi-2.0 series, for example. If you rename your series a bit, I think you'll be able to get the desired result.

That we show download files from releases of obsolete series sounds like a bug to me.

Ok. I have renamed our series which has resolved the issue.

Thanks for the prompt response.
