Make private a mailing list

Hi,

Could you make private a launchpad mailing list ? If you can, this would be for this one : https://launchpad.net/~fullcircle-fr-contribs/+mailing-list-subscribers, because this list deals with private information about a project and it's tricky.

Generally speaking, Launchpad is only for open source projects developed in the open.

That said, the technology for private mailing lists exists. It's not part of our standard offering for proprietary use of Launchpad (https://answers.edge.launchpad.net/launchpad/+faq/208) but you could inquire to <email address hidden>.

The projet is 100% open-source, it's only that information on the mailing list only refers to the project's contributors. Please, make it private freely, it's shameful to have to pay only for this so that the project is open-source and its content is free.

There may be a misunderstanding here. In Launchpad, a "private" mailing list (or bug, or team etc.) is something that you don't want others to see. But maybe what you really want is a mailing list that everybody can see, but not everybody can join and post on.

If that is the case, just restrict the team's membership by making it a moderated team. In a team like that, users can request membership but the team's owners get to decide. Only team members will be on the mailing list, but everyone can still see the list.
