Private branches

Asked by Tristan Seligmann

I just uploaded a branch to our project which I thought had private branches activated by default, but the branch appears to be public: https://code.edge.launchpad.net/~fusion-developers/fusionapp/trunk

Could you set this branch to private, and make sure any future branches are private by default?

Hi Tristan,

It is currently not possible to change the privacy of existing branches easily. It would be better to delete your current branch and create a new one.

I have changed the privacy policy for fusionapp. Any branches owned by the Fusion Developers team will be private. It should not be possible to create a public branch on the fusionapp project, but you could always create a public branch in the +junk repository that each user has.

Cheers,
Edwin

Hi Tristan,

I was wrong about it not being possible to change the visibility of an existing branch. However, private branches first have to be enabled for a project before it is possible. The "Change branch details" page will show an extra checkbox if you are allowed to change the visibility.

Cheers,
Edwin
