gettin Ubuntu off my PC

Asked by rickypb34

How do I go about deletting this Ubuntu OS off my Dell Inspiron 910 mini? It wont let me do anything. It has a password of some sort that I never created therefore I cant download, update, change, modify, nothing but look at the screen or use the brand new PC for an ash tray. I have old windows 98 software disk that I think would be a whole lot better then this Ubuntu stuff. Is this a German OS or is this one of those great changes our fabulous new president came up with? I have seen nothing at all that makes this OS even compare to Windows worst OS ever. Any suggestions or any help out there. Dell wont help. They'll allow the crappy software to be installed on they're equipment, but wont help get the worthless stuff off. If someone can tell me how to just wipe it out. I would enjoy just looking at a blank screen then the crap Ubuntu is. where the freakin name came from. It has to have something to do with Oboma. Bout the same

I can understand your frustration and anger.
Nevertheless I would respectfully ask you to blame the right people for configuring a system in a way, that newcomers seem to have severe Problems to use it. (It is no big help, but you are not the only one)

If you really want to get back windows 98 simply go the windows way.
Take the install disk
Take the install CD
Install the system.
Don't forget to prep the disk
Don't forget to format the disk

And in the case, that windows 98 doesn't work (and I am relatively positive, that it will NOT work with the new hardware) please be so kind and blame windows.

But if you consider to use Ubuntu feel free to ask here for help, how to perform a complete new installation of a system, which is the best (and no, I'm not getting payed for saying this <grin>)
You'll positively get answers from people who are WILLING to help ;-)

I was kidding about the windows 98 stuff <grin>. and this laptop is one without a CD Rom would have to use an external. All the smart people in here cant just send me a program that will wipe this crap off? the Dell mini makes a great paper weight but I wont even us it as that with Ubuntu or what ever it is on it. Its a poor system in a whole. to many hands is on it. They need to let people demo the crap before saling them BS like this. for instance, my pc is set up for auto updates right? I cant even do that because of a password that dont exist. So not only can I not download the software and things that I use such as my software to keep my blackberry etc up to date.I cant even keep my new out the box pc up todate. Im not going purchase and external rom just to wipe out this OS. They should put that in small writing on the Ubuttnu CD case when purchased "You may want an external CD ROm with this OS, we suck but with 1 million developers trying to screw PC's up, we will get better". I am very computer savy. This Ubuntu crap should only be used by T total computer geeks that actually get off on seeing how screwed up of an OS they can contribute to. So no, My problem has not been solved

Again, please don't blame people for misconfiguration who are not responsible.
If one deletes half of the .dll in a Windows system, you can't blame windows for this.
If one restricts user's rights to a point of not been able to use the OS, you can't blame the OS itself. Especially in your case, where you haven't seen 3 % of that OS and it's abilities.
And if you want another OS on your Dell, go and see, which OS you can install and blame them <grin>

Go and get Windows 7
And buy an anti virus application (not included)
And buy an office package (not included)
And even buy an email program (not included)
And buy support (not included)
And buy ...
Well sorry for that, because in my opinion that's very close to "Go to hell" <devilishgrin>

Or you could calm down, go to http://www.ubuntu.com/getubuntu/download-netbook and see how to install via USB flash drive and get a system from scratch.

And try it out BEFORE installing it.

Can you help with this problem?
