Request for adding our translation team as a subteam to LaunchPad Telugu Translators

Asked by Aryan Karamtoth

I'm a native telugu speaker and I noticed that most of the projects on launchpad don't have a telugu localisation and the teams that handled telugu localisation in the past havent been active in 5-6 years hence telugu localisation is currently abandoned.

Most of the recent work that was done , was done using google translate which gave a lot of wrong translations, saw a lot of them while reviewing the translations.

Luckily, me and my friends have formed a translation team for telugu and want to be added as a sub team under Launchpad Telugu Translators.

However, the launchpad telugu translators team is dead and not being maintained right now so we want you to add ours as a sub team since the team's moderators are not active anymore.

Hi Aryan,
Thank you for the interested in contributing with translations!

Before we consider adding a new team for translating Telugu, we reached out to the community team about the topic of inactive translation teams and reached out to the Telugu teams in specific.

We'll get back to you when we have further details on this. Thank you for your patience!

Hi Aryan,
It seems as though the https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-l10n-te team is still active and have approved your membership a couple of days ago. You should be able to contribute there now

Yes, I thought it was inactive and all but the owner came back online out of the blue after years and approved my membership.

I will try to get in contact with him and work with him closely on translations. Thanks.
