I managed to make a typo in the short name when creating a new PPA, could you delete it for me? Thanks.

It has never contained any packages and so is probably not published.

OK, it now shows as disabled on its detail page, and on edge shows greyed out in listings.

Is there any possibility of outright deletion, or am I stuck with the consequences of my typo sticking around for all time?

Since that PPA never had any uploads we can purge it from the DB.
