Update PPA signing key 'User ID'

Asked by renderguy

Hi there,

I made a mistake with my default PPA:

https://launchpad.net/~aqsis-team/+archive/ppa

... which resulted in an undesired signing key 'User ID':

http://keyserver.ubuntu.com:11371/pks/lookup?search=0xE3E324764505355C6881A03B651C88F37E3F6F85&op=index

... would you mind updating this to read 'Launchpad PPA for Aqsis Team'?

On a side note...

Though I can rename the PPA accordingly I noticed it doesn't seem to update the key details automatically (as above), is that the expected behaviour?

Thanks.

Yes, that's the expected behavior, displayname changes after the signing-key generation are not automatically propagated to the key.

I will update your key later today.

Hi Celso, thanks for the swift response.

I've checked this morning and noticed the we are still using the old key, were there problems?

Thanks.

The signing key is edited. Sorry for the late response, really an ENOTIME on my side.

Hi Celso, the key looks good now thanks!

Just 2 further amendments...

The 'Launchpad aqsis-dev' key still appears in the page listing, can this be deleted?

http://keyserver.ubuntu.com:11371/pks/lookup?search=0xE3E324764505355C6881A03B651C88F37E3F6F85&op=index

The 'Launchpad PPA for Aqsis Team' page appears to have 2 duplicate keys, rather than just 1, can this be cleaned-up?

Sorry to be a pain.

Yes, I've seen that the result isn't ideal.

I've done the following steps:

1. Created the new UID
2. Set it as 'primary'
3. Revoked the old UID
4. Deleted the old UID
5. Saved
6. Sent the public key to the key server.

Somehow the keyserver refuses to drop information about the deleted UID, I suspect the right thing to do would be leaving the revoked UID in place.

Can you help with this problem?
