I'd like to create a "Linux Mint Translation Group" to supervise the translations of all Linux Mint related projects on Launchpad.

Have you considered using Ubuntu Translators or Launchpad Translators groups instead of creating your own. Please be aware that a lot of work goes into finding and managing translators for all languages.
