help pages of Ubuntu

Asked by Kemel Zaidan aka Legendario

I saw that many of the help pages of Ubuntu are not yet translated. I've searched for them in order to help on the translation since I think this is one of the most important things to increase the number of users, because looking at the help is the first thing someone does when having a problem and if they can't read the help because it is in another language, they are more probable to give up the system. Well, I found that the Ubuntu help pages are not released for translation. Is that true or it has already been translated?

One more thing, when do all these translations are going to be available on the releases? Are they all going to be placed on the next releases?

thanks for all, greetings,

Kemel

Some of the pages are already translated, but Ubuntu still needs people like you to translate the help pages. Some translated documents were released but you do have to download them separately via Synaptic. Don't hesitate to join us at #ubuntu-doc at freenode if you have some questions. If you want to translate now, go ahead and start here https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/feisty for Feisty and https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/gutsy for Gutsy. We need all the help we can get.
