Is there anyway to merge 2 branches on Launchpad without pulling one of them down locally?

How do I merge a feature branch with the development branch without pulling either repo down locally? Is there a command I can issue from the cli to tell lp to merge the branches?

Merging always requires a local branch. There is a common strategy to for this common problem -- run a service that does the work for you. I think https://launchpad.net/tarmac can help.
