Could toki pona be added as a translation language?

Asked by Diogo Matsubara

"I noticed that you have Klingon as a language, but not Toki Pona.

Is there any change of adding it? I doubt there are any serious users of
the language, but I was thinking about translating an interface into it, and
the dev uses launchpad for translations now.

Thanks,

William"

"In general, we require languages to be assigned an ISO 639 code before
we allow it in Launchpad.  Otherwise, we'd have a proliferation of
made-up languages that nobody actually speaks.

I've noticed there was a request in 2007 to get an ISO 639 code for Toki
Pona, but I didn't ever see any follow ups.  It should not be hard to
get at least a 639-3 code for a language.
