No email recieved from launchpad when importing my gpg key

I can get the import to work but I never get the encrypted email to finish the process. I get as far as:

"A message has been sent to myemailaddress, encrypted with the key mykey. To confirm the key is yours, decrypt the message and follow the link inside. "

After 5 hours of waiting I still had no email. I changed my preferred email address and tried again but still no luck.

I started the process again last night and it has now been 9 hours without receiving the email needed to complete the registration process. I can not sign the CoC without finishing this process.

I think i figured it out. I am part of the launchpad-beta testers team so I was on edge.launchpad.net. I disabled the redirect so that I would not be running the beta code and I got the email right away.
