Delete PPA to be able to change account namne

I would like to change my launchpad account name from philip71 (not my display name Philip Johnsson) to philip5, but as I have a PPA this is not possible in the "Change your personal details" section. I have deleted all content in my PPA but can't delete the PPA itself, only create new ones. I would like some help to delete my PPA linked to my philip71 account name but still have my account but be able to change its name to philip5.

Is this possible for me or only something launchpad admin can do?

Have you tried to create a new account using the new 'name' and a new email address then merge the old one via https://staging.launchpad.net/people/+requestmerge ?

Had some problem at first with the different versions of launchpad I'm logged into and that the merging user also had to be on the same.
