Rename and reassign vcs-import branch

Asked by ahn

I have imported an SF.net module into an LP subproject's branch: lp:~vcs-imports/netrek-res-rsa/sf. I would actually like to rename this branch to lp:~vcs-imports/netrek-archive/res-rsa, and have the branch be assigned to the netrek-archive subproject. I tried to delete the first branch without success, which would have enable to re-import the repository under the new branch. How do I accomplish my objectives?

Hi ahn,

Is this still an issue for you? I can't get to the original branch; has it been deleted?

Yes, it still needs to be resolved. The original branch is here:
https://code.edge.launchpad.net/~vcs-imports/netrek-res-rsa/sf

The above needs to be reassigned to the "Netrek Archive" project and renamed into the new URL:
https://code.launchpad.net/~vcs-imports/netrek-archive/res-rsa

So that it shows up here:
https://code.launchpad.net/netrek-archive

Hi ahn-

The best way to have the branch change projects is to create a new import of the branch, and request that we delete the old branch.

Cheers,
Paul

Ok, please delete the branch https://code.edge.launchpad.net/~vcs-imports/netrek-res-rsa/sf. I have issued a new request to import the repository under the correct project here: https://code.launchpad.net/~vcs-imports/netrek-archive/res-rsa. I don't think the new import can be done when the old branch still exists because the CVSROOT and module are identical.
