Packages entry on a project page in Launchpad

Asked by Russel Winder

The Gant project page at https://launchpad.net/gant has an entry "Packages" which currently lists "gant in Ubuntu Intrepid" https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/intrepid/+source/gant. How is this entry generated? (I don't see a place to amend this in any way.) How do I get pointers to Jaunty and Karmic?

Use the Link to Ubuntu package link on the series page. I believe you intend to do this using the stable series: <https://launchpad.net/gant/1.6.x>. The link is currently on the right, but it will move into the page in the packaging section at the end of June when the new layout is released.

Thanks. I had just missed it. I should have looked harder.

In trying to correct the information, I have ended up with two entries on the Gant page for Intrepid. Is there a way of deleting one of the repeated entries?

The official answer does not work half the time. There is a bug that I have not found the origin of that prevents the project owner from deleting erroneous project links. A launchpad admin can use his god-like powers to delete them from the DB. If you do not see a delete link in the package listing, provide the page url and packages that need to be deleted.
FAQ #72: “How do I delete a packaging link I created by mistake?”.

On the page https://launchpad.net/gant under "Packages" there are two links to "gant in Ubuntu Intrepid" both of these link to the same page https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/intrepid/+source/gant.

The information is correct, it is just replicated on the Gant project page.

I don't actually see a "delete" link anywhere associated with these pages, so I cannot delete to see what happens.

I guess I have managed to create two content identical but identity different records :-(
