Having our own translation team

I don't understand you questions.

Do you want to create a team for translating general tutorials and drafting in all languages ?

It is just about Ubuntu ?
It is just about Arabic or French language ?

If we are talking about translation it is recommended to group translators by language and not by country.

i'll try my best to provide as most explanations as possible :

Our loco team have actually a drafting team which is in charge to draft tutorials and documents about ubuntu and FLOSS.
This team is also in charge to draft reports.

Any document drafted by this team is intended to be translated in three languages : French, Arabic and English

So my question is :
Can we have a specific translation team for this purpose.

the objective of this drafting project is to centralize all documents on LP to works on it and to let it be accessible to our Drafting team.
Next this documents will be placed in our Website, WiKi pages

So i think that the most relaible definition for this purpose is the answer of your first question "Adi" : it's indeed intended to draft and translate tutorials in three languages.

Why did you chose to create a new team for creating documentation for Ubuntu ?
At least for the Ubuntu specific docs, I recommend joining the Ubuntu Documentation team and then have your work translated in more than 100 languages ?

Is there a good reason for restricting translations only to French, Arabic and English?

So at leas for the Ubuntu specific docs I suggest to work togheter with the Ubuntu Documentation team and let Ubuntu Translators Group handle the translations.

You can create a translations team for each language and then make it a subteam of ubuntu-l10n-fr or ubuntu-l10n-ar

For the general FLOSS documentation my suggestions is to go with Launchpad Translators group and from what see, you already did that.

In the same time I'm looking at the source code and presentations and tutorials are empty.

Do you plan to use Launchpad Translations online tool for translating those files, or members of the team will translated them offline and upload them to bzr ?

The solution of creating a localization team may solve the situation but we need three teams : arabic, french and english one beacause one member can draft a document in one of the three languages and we have to translate it to the other two remaining languages.

the specific choice of these three languages is that this languages are the principal spoken languages in tunisia (also italian is spoken by some people including me :) and german also, spanish, ...)

No problem.

Can you continue with your work and configure the translations and after that I will know what exactly do you need and what solution will suit you better.

Meanwhile I suggest to assign the translations to "Ubuntu Translators Group" , set the policy to "Structures".

You can create new translations team for each language and then ask the Ubuntu translation coordinator for each language to add the new team as subteam... or you can join directly the requred Ubuntu team.
