Can GPL licensed translations be extended on Launchpad

The most items to be translated are related to user interface. There are no documents like help but user interface related items like menu items, button texts, tool tips, tab names and so on.

I assuse that many of those translations are public domain... it is hard to have copyright on just the translatons of "Edit" , "Copy", "Paste" ... etc

When uploading a PO file you have the "Published upload" option ... in this case you will mark those translatons as "upstream" / original.

Upload new translation resources
Upload either a single file (.pot / .po) or a tar file containing a PO template and a set of PO files (.tar, .tar.gz, .tgz or .tar.bz2). The files you upload will be reviewed by an admin before they appear in Launchpad. We do this for new uploads so that we can check that things are set up properly. Further uploads of these files will not need to be reviewed.

Yes... the "Published upload" only exists for already created templates in Launchpad Translations.

In you case, as it is an initial import, just make sure "Last translators" is correctly set for each po file.

I still do not understand what to write in field "Last-Translator" .

Therefore I post here the current po file header. Could you please tell me how I should change it?

By the way I change status of all files from the import queue from "need review" to "deleted" so that I can correct them before review.

In many cases I have no idea who was the last translator.
It was a collective work. Translation origins have not always been tracked.
And not all mail addresses are known or can be published.

Further I do not understand whether GPL should be mentioned
and whether I should fill the rest items.

I am terrible sorry for asking so many qustions,
but I still do no understand
what I should do.

May be it is not important at all?
