please create an ubuntu-doc-project umbrella project

Asked by Matthew East

The ubuntu-doc team currently hosts code branches for various flavours of Ubuntu (Ubuntu, Kubuntu, Xubuntu and Edubuntu). In the past, branches for those flavours have been hosted on a single project - https://code.launchpad.net/ubuntu-doc - but this doesn't give us the possibility of assigning a release series to all the relevant branches, as Launchpad only permits one branch to be the "official" branch for that release series. We also can't link branches to Ubuntu packages for more than one branch per release.

As a result we've decided to try the idea of having separate projects for each flavour (ubuntu-docs, kubuntu-docs, xubuntu-docs and edubuntu-docs), and uniting them under an umbrella project (ubuntu-doc-project). Please could you create that umbrella project. Ideally, we'd like release series of each of the individual projects under the umbrella to be automatically the same by setting the release series from the umbrella group.

Also, it would be helpful if you could transfer the ownership of the existing kubuntu-docs project to me or the ~ubuntu-core-doc team. It was registered a long time ago (2005) by another user but hasn't been used. I contacted the registrant to ask him to transfer the project to the Ubuntu Documentation Team, but he hasn't responded.

Many thanks in advance for your assistance.

NB I've now had a response from the owner of the kubuntu-docs project. He says:
